Gujarat Gets Its First AIIMS: PM Modi to Inaugurate on February 25th!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the state’s first-ever All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rajkot on February 25th. The AIIMS in Rajkot boasts an impressive 201-acre campus, housing 720 beds, including ICU and super-specialty units. The inauguration ceremony will see PM Modi officially open the in-patient department (IPD), alongside 23 operation theatres, a 30-bed AYUSH block, and 250 IPD beds. This initial phase paves the way for further expansion, with the remaining beds becoming available gradually.
This project, built at a cost of Rs 1,195 crore, is poised to revolutionize healthcare access for the people of Gujarat. The OPD, already operational, has served over 1.44 lakh patients, demonstrating the immense need and potential impact of this facility.
